Workshop: Portraiture Sat, Aug 10 (Sat) 1-4pm & Aug 16, 17( Fri & Sat) 10am-12pm & 1pm-4pm This is a three-day workshop.
Our time will be spent working step-by-step through the process of portraiture done in Alla-Prima (wet-in-wet). Paint application in alla-prima painting isn't difficult, but it has historically been referred to as a science (John Singer Sargent). Understanding this science makes the work more approachable.
In addition to the primary science and application (brushwork) involved, we will discuss design, drawing, likeness, palette organization, color mixing, value, edges, and producing a completed portrait.
